Philosophy  

Our purpose is to create an inviting, stimulating, cozy environment where learning will be fun; where each child will be treated with the utmost respect all of the time. We will provide an opportunity for each child to have free choice of activities and free choice of playmates. Our purpose is to teach and interact in a manner that will build the child's self-esteem, cultivate natural curiosity, develop a love for learning and a positive attitude about school. Butterfly Garden Learning Center will provide a varied, “hands-on" program designed to nurture each child's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth as the child readiness dictates.

Our goal is to give 100% to each and every child, each and every day.

Our Staff...Above and Beyond the Standards  

It is rare to find a preschool staff to match our qualifications. Our teachers have minimally earned their Bachelor’s degrees and half of our staff a Master’s degree in Education. With decades of experience, many of our teachers have served BGLC since its birth over 30 years ago.

The Directors...

Dana Ruane received her certification from the University of Illinois in Early Childhood Development while Stacey Mladic received her certification from Illinois State University in Specialized Educational Development.  Both earned their Masters of Arts in Teaching and Leadership at Saint Xavier University . Dana and Stacey have over 40 years of classroom experience between them and are leaders involved in many community activities including: Girl Scouts, athletic coaching, mother’s groups, and hospital charities to name a few. Together, they previously trained teachers and administrators of various school districts in applied classroom technology and curriculum.
